Literacy, Language & Numeracy (LLN)

A large proportion of the New Zealand adult workforce has some degree of difficulty with reading, writing and numeracy skills. These skills also include the ability to communicate clearly, listen effectively and think critically.

Is literacy a problem?

When combined with the demands placed upon our industry by globalisation and the increasing use of ever-changing technology, there is now a large demand for a more literate and numerate workforce.

Is literacy an issue at your workplace?

Some employees will tell you quite clearly that they have problems, others will not. While employees with poor literacy and numeracy skills appear to manage very well, never underestimate the impact this has on their lives both at work and at home.
