About TRoQ
Over the next three years NZQA are reviewing all qualifications throughout New Zealand, the process is called the “Targeted Review of Qualifications” or “TRoQ”. The objective is to reduce the number of qualifications and make the New Zealand qualification system simpler for employers, learners and training providers.

FITEC appreciates and acknowledges the support we have from the industry and the time put into previous and current qualification reviews. We will try to minimise the impact on the industry of these reviews but industry participation in the TRoQ review process is VITAL to ensure that the qualifications meet industry need.

The Review Process
NZQA has published guidelines for reviewing qualifications that FITEC needs to follow to complete the review process. The guidelines set out key stages of the review process and actions that should be undertaken to meet the requirements of these guidelines.

Disputing Outcomes
As part of its guardianship of the NZQF, NZQA is responsible for qualifications listed on the NZQF and in this role is the final decision-maker on the outcome of a qualification review. It is anticipated that in the great majority of reviews there will be consensus over the outcome of the review process.
