What is the New Zealand Trade Academy?

  • A new opportunity for senior secondary school students to experience working in the primary industries
  • Combines senior secondary classroom study with on the job learning
  • National Certificate credits count towards NCEA
  • Parallel academic and vocational learning, adaptable to individual students
  • 1 day per week in the workplace in Year 11 to up to 3 days in Year 13
  • A joint initiative of high schools, primary industry training organisation and employers
