Inzone Bus
If enormous, flat-screen, plasma TVs are your thing – then you’re going to love this! A huge 14-metre-long bus is travelling the country telling your industry’s story on a giant screen that fills one side of it. If enormous, flat-screen, plasma TVs are your thing – then you’re going to love this! A huge 14-metre-long bus is travelling the country telling your industry’s story on a giant screen that fills one side of it. The Inzone experience brings 22 organisations and/or businesses together on a bus to promote themselves to secondary school students. David Trought, National Careers Manager says the bus is yet another opportunity to get the message across to young people that forest, wood processing and furniture making are valid and interesting career choices. “We’ve filmed people and places from Dongwha Patinna in the South Island to Rayonair at the top of the North Island to ensure students see the broadest possible cross-section of the industry. “Now that the bus is on the road it will travel continuously for the school year, visiting approximately 200 secondary schools and engaging with around 40,000 students. David says one of the major benefits of being part of the Inzone bus is data collection. As each student logs into the FITEC pod on the bus, FITEC can collect their name, cellphone, email and other contact details. “Then, when the need arises, we can ‘text bomb’ students and alert them to job opportunities in their region such as which local employers may be recruiting for specific jobs.” Over the next three months, the bus is visiting New Plymouth, Kapiti, Porirua, Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Wellington, Marlborough, Tasman, Kaikoura, Waimakariki and Christchurch.
